Privacy

No ad trackers, no third-party analytics, nothing sold or shared. Here's everything this site keeps, and it keeps it in its own database.

When you visit

• Which page you opened, and when.
• The site that sent you here, if your browser says (for example instagram.com).
• Any tag in the link, like ?src=ig or joeliscurious.com/ig.
• Phone, tablet or computer, and which browser or app, worked out from your browser's user agent.
• A rough location: which of our hosting provider's data centers answered you (for example "Chicago area"). Not your address, not your city.
• A cookie called jic_v holding a random ID, so I can tell a new visitor from a returning one. It isn't linked to your name or email and it never leaves this site.

Your IP address is not stored. Visit records are deleted after 13 months.

If you join the email list

Your email address, which form you used, the link tag you arrived with, and the date. That's it. It's used only to email you about what I'm working on (videos, writing, the book, and merch someday). Every email has an unsubscribe link. I don't sell your email. I'm not that kind of primate.

The emails are delivered by Resend, an email delivery service. It gets your address only to deliver each one.
